What is a good bible study that a mother could do with her young daughter?
My daughter and I are making a virtuous woman, and modest maiden scrapbook where we will put our favorite verses, recipes, and pictures in. What are some other ideas of things we could put in there. I’m thinking of some poems, and small studies of women in the bible.
Any other ideas?
Thanks
That is a wonderful thing you are doing with your daughter. God bless you for that!
Deuteronomy 8:2And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
2 Chronicles 7:14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Teach your daughter how to be humble before the Lord. Let her know that she is a child of a king. Teach her that she does not have to give into peer pressure to fit in. To go against the flow takes more courage than to go with what her friends might be doing that does not glorify God. All kids experience peer pressure.
Romans 12:2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Prayer can get her through any situation. Jesus should be who she calls her "Best Friend" in life.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
Stay in God’s Word every day.
2 Timothy 2:15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Charity is one of the most important things in our life.
Colossians 3:14And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
God bless you and your daughter and what you are doing together in Jesus name!
Show her verses that encourage tolerance and love.

I have a great Catholic Coloring book of the Bible and the main stories throughout. It might be nice if she painted a couple pics (maybe Mary and Veronica etc). and you added them to it. Little ones art work has to be the best.

How ’bout Proverbs 31?
U could also include verses from the book of Esther.

Some thoughts…
1. At Christian bookstores, there is a very wide range of books that deal with women in Christianity, in the Bible, etc. Many of them are very good. They focus on how women have represented God’s teachings in the Bible. There are also books for men. I think it’s a great concept when looking through the lens of gender.
2. I’ve noticed a couple of devotional Bibles in the NIV translation that would be relevant. One is "Mom’s Devotional Bible" and the other is "Women’s Devotional Bible." I want to say they are both by Zondervan? I bet those lend the same focus as what I describe above. I use Zondervan’s "Men’s Devotional Bible" and I enjoy it a great deal.
3. You may consider simply picking up a Bible and reading through Matthew, Mark, Luke and John with you daughter. Obviously, do it in small parts at a time. Discuss each part and talk about how it applies to your lives. These are the teachings of Jesus. Double check the books I’m quoting for this, as I’m not 100% sure (reading them myself as I write this; there may be more books). I would suggest journaling your conclusions and thoughts, and you could add to the scrapbook.
I have to say, I think it’s a wonderful idea what you’re doing. Sounds like a spectacular way to spend time with your daughter.
God bless.
